NICHOLAS MORTIMER

Nicholas Mortimer's current practice has evolved from a system of structural sampling and editing. A process of enquiry into the industrial landscape and architectural aesthetics has led Mortimer to make work which aims to establish a balance between the ubiquity of trade materials, and the fabrication of ambiguous forms. “Investigating a variety of budget materials or discarded scrap, I intend to project further meaning into what surrounds the clutter of work places and forgotten spaces whilst deflecting any original purpose through the use of colour or restoration”.
